Little girls dream of taking care of animals, why not little hippopotamuses? Perfect for them the curves of this mother on which they can play in complete safety. Contrast between the benevolent and attentive immobility of the mother with the playful agitation of the children. Sculpture all in roundness and softness Silver nitrate patina
The care that elephant groups take in the education and protection of baby elephants is well known. This matriarch avoids a fall to her little one with tenderness and humor. Everything that should preside over the education of our little ones, us men! The position of the elephants is reinforced by the shape of the promontory which evokes a bit of a wave....
Malanka is a traditional Ukrainian folk holiday. Both parents are the pillars around which children revolve. I used a warm, brown patina with lighter backgrounds. When modeling this sculpture, I thought of the children under the bombs, wishing them the next few days of celebrations.
To think outside the box, I tackled pizzlys, the fruit of an amorous encounter between Grizzly Bears and Polar Bears. “Coffee with milk...” bears. The song "Mélangez-vous" by Pierre Perret, which should be part of the school repertoire, is not far off the mark. Bears are not racist and they try to see further by perching on top of each other!

For the exhibition "Sculptures en Liberté" and now to see in my galleries. The sculpture therefore spent the entire summer of 2020 on the lawns of the remarkable garden of the Musée...

This peaceful animal has a lanky grace, airy and wild and with large soft eyes. It is one of the rare animals which dates back to prehistoric times and one with which we can identify emotionally....
Wild BoarWe walk, they see us, invisible presences to our senses as city dwellers. Just maybe we hear a crackling sound, or we see their traces where they have turned and rooted through the earth on the edges of the forest paths. However, I remember four adorable young boars that I saw as they played, carefree, around the Neuville pond. Armed members of...
Three first editions were presented at the Down to Art gallery by Marc and Charlotte, who loved this "dog sandwich". These dogs, they are five of all breeds, watch and wonder a little, what are they doing there...The original clay was presented in 2020 in the remarkable gardesn of the Musée de l’outil and the first bronze at the Ghent Art Fair.
Sophie Verger appropriates collections to the point of her astonishing true-false recumbent on the Museum's central patio, blurring the lines between myth, archaeological reality and contemporary creation. (Extract from the exhibition catalogue "Sculptures en liberté")
