Big bear and his little one

This bronze animal sculpture, both dynamic and rounded, is currently presented by the Platini gallery in Crans Montana. Switzerland is one of the traditional territories of the bear, and so I’m delighted to see it set up “in the city”.

Outdoors, sculptures tent to take on a whole new dimension. The changing play of light brings out different angles of view depending on the weather, highlights a detail, touches a curve, magnifies it. The changing weather makes us see the statue in a different way every day.
I look forward to snow days every winter.

This large bronze was made at the HARZE art foundry; I chose a warm brown patina with lighter backgrounds which makes it easier to read and highlights "a skin", inviting you to caress it.
