Anadyomene Venus

The hippopotamus quickly joined my bestiary as its curves were plastically attractive. The hippopotamus was a symbol of fertility in ancient Egypt a symbol and is still a symbol very often collected by women. I represented him with his little ones, or ridden by chubby riders.  Just for fun, I also created small anthropomorphic Venuses.  A warning, in antiquity he followed the destiny of the God Seth, sometimes honoured, sometimes demonized because he destroyed crops, in a way a symbol of our complicated relationships with animals.
