The little girl tells wolf stories to her very attentive dog (perhaps the wolf and the dog of LA FONTAINE).
This sculpture is inspired by the recurring theme of portraits of children and their pets that started in the 18th century. Perhaps this is why the work is more detailed and realistic than usual. The sculpture is also exhibited at the Millet Museum in Barbizon.
I hope I have succeeded in expressing this strong bond between the animal and the child, which means that they understand each other through play without the language barrier.
