If I had to choose an image of "living together in humanity" this is the one I would choose.
Penguin, standing in a tuxedo, its swaying gait and its apparent clumsiness have been imitated by clowns, which often leads to its name being used as a nickname to make fun of.
Sophie tells us about a “Fragile balance” by reversing the roles…. Just to look back, this incredible pyramid structure seems to me to thumb its nose at this humanity that believes itself above all species.
The first penguin forces me to reflect on the essentials of our survival: the strength of one depends on the stability of all, knowing how to anchor oneself on earth and reproduce the species.
The second one, thus reassured, can defy the laws of the possible: find the right balance. It is for me the symbol that each individual, who, while maintaining their identity without compromising their essence, must manage different responsibilities. Who would have thought it possible for this penguin to carry its offspring at fin’s length?... and yet!
As for the last one, it proudly shows me by its balance, its confidence and its stability that it is possible to keep a positive outlook to keep moving forward.
I find this and confidence throughout Sophie's work, which humorously offers us the chance to look on the bright side of things".
